WIA Youth
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998 enacted a formula-funded youth program serving eligible low-income youth, ages 16-21, which face barriers to education (High School Drop-Outs) and employment. Service strategies, developed by workforce providers, prepare youth for employment, GED, and/or post-secondary education through strong linkages between academic and occupational learning. The following are the service providers that offer these services to youth that meet the income criteria:
OU Boces – Second Chance Program (845) 562-1188 ext 10705
Orange County Community College – Youth Empowerment Program (845) 341-4874
Best Resource Center – (845) 562-2378
