Public Health Education
Public Health Educators work with the general public, hospitals, health care providers, school districts, businesses, and community agencies to provide resources and expertise to improve health and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Areas of focus include improving general nutrition and reducing childhood obesity, exercise education, preventing West Nile Virus and Lyme Disease, tobacco use prevention, dental education, and other topics of importance in improving people’s health.
Public Health Educators also work with local media to widely disseminate public health messages in a timely fashion.
