30-day Public Comment Period
July 10, 2013 to August 10, 2013

The Orange County Transportation Council (OCTC) welcomes comments on a proposed update to the transportation federal-aid urbanized area boundary. Federal transportation legislation allows for State and local officials to cooperatively expand the Census-defined urbanized area for transportation purposes. This is accomplished following each decennial Federal census. Comments on the proposed update of the of the OCTC portion of the Poughkeepsie-Newburgh NY-NJ Urban Area Boundary, will be taken during a thirty (30) day public comment period beginning July 10, 2013 and running through August 10, 2013. The existing OCTC urban area boundary which was last updated in 2003 is proposed to be extended to encompass two areas in the Towns of Wallkill and Crawford. The associated map displaying the revisions is available on the OCTC website (www.orangecountygov.com/planning/octc).

This transportation urban area boundary revision will be considered for approval by the OCTC Executive Committee at its meeting on August 13, 2013. Written comments will be accepted by mail and email on the conformity document until August 10, 2013.

Written comments and questions should be directed to OCTC at 124 Main Street, Goshen, NY, 10924 or by email at octc@orangecountygov.com
