Air Quality Conformity Determination for PM2.5
May 1, 2017 through May 30, 2017


The Orange County Transportation Council (OCTC) will consider taking action regarding the Air Quality Conformity Determination for PM2.5 at the OCTC Policy Committee meeting on June 12, 2017 beginning at 1:00PM. The meeting will be held in Classroom 1 at the Orange County Emergency Services Center, 22 Wells Farm Road, Goshen. The Air Quality Conformity Determination will be available for public review from May 1, 2017 through May 30, 2017.

The Air Quality Conformity Determination for PM2.5 fine particulate matter is a requirement, as Orange County is in a designated non-attainment area for PM2.5, which is shared with the New York Metropolitan Area. The intent of air quality conformity is to ensure coordination between transportation and air quality planning to ensure that transportation programs and projects in the Long Range Transportation Plan will not cause any new violations, increase the frequency or severity of violations, or delay timely attainment of the PM2.5 standard.
