The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced $500 million in available funding for large-scale, regionally significant transportation projects across the country under the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) competitive grant program. Applications are due October 16, 2017. Visit https://www.transportation.gov/tiger for more information, including how to apply.

Eligible projects for TIGER Discretionary Grants are capital projects that include, but are not limited to:

  • Road or bridge projects eligible under Title 23, United States Code (USC) (including bicycle- and pedestrian-related projects)
  • Public transportation projects eligible under Chapter 53 of Title 49, United States Code (USC)
  • Passenger and freight rail transportation projects
  • Port infrastructure investments (including inland port infrastructure)
  • Intermodal projects
