05-24-04 West Nile Tire Collection Procedures New Hampton, Newburgh & Port Jervis Transfer Stations

Old tires are one of the PRIME breeding grounds for mosquitoes, which carry West Nile Virus.

RESIDENTS wishing to dispose of their tires FREE OF CHARGE can do so JUNE 1, 2004 UNTIL JUNE 30, 2004 after which time residents will be charged according to an established fee schedule.

A limit of five (5) tires per resident.

Tires are limited to 17" or smaller in size and must be off the rim.

Tires which are still on the rims or larger than 17" will be charged according to an established fee schedule.

MUNICIPALITIES who wish to take advantage of this program can do so at no charge for normal sized tires off rims.  The tires MUST BE brought to the Solid Waste Management Facility in New Hampton ONLY!   For large quantities, you must call ahead to make arrangements.

BUSINESSES who wish to take advantage of this collection can do so at a reduced rate of $75.00 per ton for normal sized tires off rim.  The tires MUST BE brought to the Solid Waste Management Facility in New Hampton ONLY!  For large quantities, you must call ahead to make arrangements.

Oversized tires and tires on rims will be charged according to an established fee schedule.
