Due to a fire in the Ottaway Education Building, the Arboretum will not be available for rentals until further notice.

Please note: Permit requests will be subject to department approval.  Upon approval, payment will be required to confirm the reservation. YOUR RESERVATION IS NOT FINALIZED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT.

The Arboretum is located in the County’s Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Hamptonburgh and is most easily accessed from the Grove St. entrance to the park off of State Route 416. There is a motion-activated gate to enter the site in a vehicle, as well as a latched pedestrian entrance to the right of the main gate. The gardens are open to the public free of charge from dawn to dusk year round. Currently 8 of 35-acre facility have been developed for the organized display of trees, shrubs, and plants. Additionally, there are magnificent raised gardens and cascading water features. The Arboretum’s many pathways connecting the gardenflowers and walkway at the Arboretums and the numerous benches throughout make this facility an ideal spot to take a walk or just sit and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the setting. The Arboretum is also home to the Remembrance Walkway and Garden to honor those who lost their lives in the September 11th attacks. The September 11th Memorial features a stunning rotating granite sculpture of the earth surrounded by bronze plaques with the names of the 44 Orange County residents who perished that day. A memorial service is held annually on the date and is open to the public.


Education Center at Orange County ArboretumTHE RUTH AND JIM OTTAWAY EDUCATION CENTER:

** Due to building fire rental of this facility is unavailable until further notice.  

The Education Center located within the Arboretum is available to rent for meetings and events. The building offers a floor to ceiling wall of windows overlooking the gorgeous raised bed gardens. It has kitchen facilities, tables and chairs, restrooms and can accommodate a maximum of 48 people. For larger outdoor events, such as weddings, a tent can be used on-site for an additional fee. Hours are limited to no later than 9 PM. For availability call 845-615-3830.

GEM (Garden Exploration with Master Gardeners) SCHOOL GROUP PROGRAM

ATTENTION EDUCATORS: The Friends of the Orange County Arboretum in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are pleased to offer an environmental education program for elementary school groups of between 50 and 75 students. The program is program is geared for Kindergarten through third grade. Dates in May and June are limited. Call 845-615-3830 for more information..

Please Note: Facility Rentals require advance permit and payment of scheduled fees. Professional Photographers must have a permit to take pictures on site. Permits may be obtained by calling 845-615-3830.
