sUAS (Drones)

The Office of Emergency Management operates a sUAS - also known as 'Drone' program for public safety.

Some of the aspects of our Public Safety Drone Program include:

- Pilots are certified and licensed with the Federal Aviation Administration to help insure maximum proficiency

- Missions assigned include:

- Search & Rescue for missing persons

- Aerial surveillance for assessment in emergency responses where lives may be in danger 

- Investigation of hazardous materials incidents where the jeopardy of rescuer lives can be more precisely determined
