View the Policy and Standards for Permit Work within County Right-of-Way. All work within a County Right-of-Way and all work requiring access from a County Road Right-of-Way must have project plans prepared in conformance with the Policy and Standards. Plans for all proposed work must be approved by the Department of Public Works before a Highway Work Permit can be issued.

   PERMIT APPLICATIONS:

  • Permit for Work on a County Road: All work within the County Right-of-Way and all work requiring access from a County Road Right-of-Way must have a Highway Work Permit from the Orange County Department of Public Works under Section 136 of the New York State Highway Law.
  • Special Event Permit: All functions using a County Road or County owned property require a Special Event Permit issued by the Orange County Department of Public Works.
  • Special Hauling Permit: All oversized and/or overweight vehicles (length, width, and/or weight) using a County Road or Bridge within Orange County requires a Special Hauling Permit issued by the Orange County Department of Public Works.
