The Orange County Suicide Prevention Task Force has been in existence since December 2005. The committee is comprised of members from community agencies, County Departments, and regional organizations devoted to suicide prevention. Committee members also participate in regional meetings facilitated by the Suicide Prevention Center of NYS.  Preventing suicide is a challenge that requires the entire community's active engagement and participation so our task force is working to educate others about the risk factors, warning signs, resources and what you can do to prevent suicide.

If you live in Orange County and need immediate assistance, please call the Orange County Crisis Call Center by dialing 311 or 1-800-832-1200 or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988 or 1-800-273-TALK

If there is imminent risk to self or others dial 911

MISSION AND PURPOSE

The Orange County Suicide Prevention Task Force aims to promote awareness of suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention through education, training, and resource development. We envision a community that is free of suicide and stigma related to mental illness.
