Becoming an Assigned Counsel Attorney in Orange County
There are currently five (5) separate types of assigned counsel panels in the County of Orange: the Family, Criminal-Felony, Criminal-Misdemeanor, Parole and Appellate panels.
Attorneys seeking admission to the panels are advised to forward their resume, completed 18-b Panel Attorney Application, financial forms, certificate of good standing, and malpractice insurance binder by:

OAC strongly encourages attorneys applying for the panel to complete all aspects of the application including completion of financial forms and providing proof of liability insurance. Failure to do so will delay the review and approval of the application.
Please Note: Panel attorneys are not employed by the OAC but rather are independent vendors of the OAC with the County of Orange.
