Helping Our Neighbors: Volunteer Opportunities and Resources

All year round, but especially during the holiday season, I try to be grateful for all that I have and to be mindful that there are many opportunities to assist those who are less fortunate in our community. We can donate our time, non-perishable goods, or winter clothing and accessories. No matter how we choose to help, our contributions will make a difference in someone’s life.

If you are looking for volunteer opportunities for you or your family, please consider some of our local organizations which can always use your time, money, talents, or other resources.

I will highlight some of these organizations throughout the holidays. If you know of organizations or events that need volunteers or contributions, please email the information. I will highlight as many as I can.

Below is information about local food pantries which are helping more residents, from senior citizens to single parents, to hard-working Orange County families, than ever before. Please reach out if you would like volunteer information, or if you and your loved ones are in need.

The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley collects large donations of unmarketable but still edible food and distributes it to charitable agencies feeding those in need.
