Seasonal flu is a serious illness. Serious health problems like pneumonia, bacterial infections, hospitalization, and even death, can result from the flu.
Seasonal flu occurs every year, starting in the Fall and lasting through the Spring.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) strongly encourages seasonal flu vaccination for all people 6 months of age and older. The County Health Department particularly encourages pregnant women and those with underlying medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes or cardiovascular conditions to receive a seasonal flu vaccination.
You may also contact your physician, community health center, pharmacy, or other provider to get a flu vaccine. You may also visit vaccinefinder.org to locate a flu vaccination provider near you.
The County Health Department is scheduling flu vaccine clinics by appointment at our Newburgh and Middletown office locations:
130 Broadway Newburgh, NY 12550
18 Seward Ave. Middletown, NY 10940
Flu clinics are open to uninsured or underinsured children (6 months of age and older) and adults. For those covered by insurance, the cost of the flu vaccine is $35.
