The objective of the Tobacco Free Schools program is to increase the number of educational institutions in Orange County that effectively implement tobacco-free policies.
This objective is accomplished by Community Health Outreach staff working with schools to establish a committee comprised of faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members to draft and seek approval of a tobacco-free school policy.
In addition, the school community will be offered free smoking cessation programs, assistance in developing a chapter of Reality Check, and assistance in developing an alternative-to-suspension program to more effectively deter smoking in school.
