Town, County and special district tax bills are mailed by the various towns to property owners in Orange County or their escrow holders. Pay town and county property tax bills to the town without penalty.
City Property Taxes
The County does not collect or enforce taxes within the City of Middletown, who can be reached at 845-346-4150, City of Newburgh who can be reached at 845-569-7330 or City of Port Jervis who can be reach at 845-858-4014.
City School Property Taxes
There are properties that are included in the three city school districts (Middletown, Newburgh and Port Jervis) but are located outside the respective city boundaries. These property owners pay their current school taxes to their respective city school district. If they become delinquent, the payments are then made to the County as follows:
- City of Middletown School District March 2023
- City of Newburgh School District April 2023
- City of Port Jervis School District November 2023

Village Property Taxes
Property owners who reside in a village pay their current and late village property taxes to their respective villages up to October 31st. The schedule for the mailing of village property tax bills is as follows:
- Village of Kiryas: January
- Village of South Blooming Grove: January
- Villages of Cornwall-on-Hudson and Washingtonville: March
- All other villages: June
Pay town and county property tax bills to the town with 1% interest.
Pay town and county property tax bills to the town with 2% interest and town mailing fee of either $1 or $2, if applicable.
March 31st is the last day to pay Town Tax Collector with interest. For property owners who are still delinquent for their 2022 property taxes, a title search fee of no more than $150 will be assessed on each delinquent parcel.
Orange County Commissioner of Finance begins to collect town and county taxes for all towns, with penalty plus interest after April 1, 2023. Contact our office at 845-291-2480 for exact amount due.
Generally, all non-city school districts mail their school tax bills to property owners and escrow holders within their district with the exception of the City of Middletown School District.
The City of Middletown School District mails its school tax bills to property owners and escrow holders within it's district.
The 2023 List of Delinquent town and county property taxes, by town and section, block and lot, is filed with the Orange County Clerk’s Office. This list may also include current city school district delinquent taxes.
Orange County Finance Department will accept payment on 2023 to 2024 non-city school property taxes from November 1st to November 15th. Orange County Finance Department will accept payment on 2023 to 2024 village property taxes from November 1st to November 15th.
School and village property taxes remaining unpaid after November 15th will be added to the 2024 town and county property tax bill with a 7% re-levy fee.
For property owners who are still delinquent for their 2023 property taxes, a title search fee of no more than $150 will be assessed on each delinquent parcel.
