The Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) of Orange County is intended to promote awareness about hazardous materials and increase the safety of the community. The LEPC was created to foster a cooperative environment where the public, emergency responders and local business may exchange ideas and work as partners toward making Orange County as safe as it possibly can be.

Although Orange County assists in the administration and is a member of the LEPC, this Committee is an independent planning body made up of community partners.
