Responsibilities
The Public Health Nursing Division includes skilled nurses and support staff who provide services to prevent and control communicable and chronic disease.

Communicable Disease
The Health Department monitors the incidence of, and responds to cases of, communicable disease in Orange County. The goal of these efforts is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Immunization Clinics
Immunization clinics to prevent communicable diseases are offered year round for adults and uninsured children in Health Department offices in Middletown and Newburgh

Sexual Health & HIV Clinics
Clinics are held by appointment only. Parental Permission is not required for minors.

Tuberculosis (TB) Clinics
Monthly clinics are held in our Newburgh office for evaluation and treatment of Latent Infection (LTBI). Nursing services are available for treatment and management of Active Tuberculosis Disease.

"Health Grows Here" Mobile Care Unit
The “Health Grows Here” Mobile Unit helps bring Orange County Department of Health services to residents where they are. Department of Health staff travel with “Health Grows Here” around the county to offer vaccines, health resources, and some health screenings and treatments.
