Immunization Clinics
Objective
Immunization clinics to prevent communicable diseases are offered year round for adults and uninsured/underinsured children in Health Department offices in Middletown, and Newburgh.
Immunizations for Children
Immunizations are recommended for children beginning at 2 months of age (birth dose of Hep B should be administered in the hospital). Uninsured/underinsured children are eligible for this service at no cost through 18 years of age.
Uninsured/underinsured Orange County high school students, 19 years and older may receive specific vaccines that are needed for school attendance. Children’s immunization clinics are by appointment only and a current immunization record is required. A parent/legal guardian must be present for children who are under 18 years of age.
Vaccines can be administered to children to protect against:
- Diphtheria
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B, a cause of invasive infection including meningitis)
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
- Influenza (flu)
- Measles
- Meningitis
- Mumps
- Pertussis (Whooping cough)
- Pneumonia
- Polio
- Rubella (German Measles)
- Tetanus
- Varicella (Chickenpox)

Adult & Travel Clinics (including COVID-19 vaccines)
Immunization clinics for travelers are by appointment only. There is a fee to cover the cost of each vaccine. Vaccines that can be administered include:
- COVID-19
- Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib)*
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Herpes Zoster/Shingles, Shingrix*
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV)*
- Inactivated Polio
- Influenza
- Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
- Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (Prevnar 13/PCV13)*
- Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23)*
- Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis)
- Tetanus and diphtheria (Td)*
- Typhoid
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Yellow Fever (based on availability)
*require pre-order and pre-payment
Yellow Fever, Typhoid, and Shingrix require a prescription signed by a New York State licensed physician.
Adult and Travel clinic appointments fill up quickly. Therefore, travelers are urged to begin their vaccinations three to six months before departure. Please call 845-291-2330 (note new phone number) during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM) to schedule an appointment and to obtain fee per dose.
