About the Division
The Administrative Division provides administrative and fiscal direction for activities of the Department and supportive services.
Child Support staff assist citizens of Orange County in the establishment of paternity and child support orders, promoting self sufficiency of families and insuring children’s rights to know both parents. To contact Child Support call 888-208-4485.
Managed Care offers an alternative to Medicaid and is designed to improve access to quality medical services in a more cost effective manner.
The Special Investigation Unit investigates suspected cases of fraud and abuse by recipients and vendors for various programs administered by the Department.
A Contract Monitor is responsible for initiating and participating in contract negotiations, processing, interpreting and retaining contracts for Social Services.
Accounting/Finance is responsible for the preparation of the Department’s budget, and charting and projecting expenditures as the year progresses. Oversight is also given for claiming of expenditures which enables the Department to receive proper reimbursement from the Federal and State Governments.
Staff Development is responsible for training and developing programs for all employees to ensure that staff have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs.
Human Resources provides oversight for personnel issues, including civil service, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and employee recognition.
Information Technology is responsible for the coordination between the New York State Department of Social Services and the County Department of Social Services for system issues, production, data collection/distribution and equipment maintenance. Personal computers utilized by the agency and related issues are also under this jurisdiction.
Administrative Support Services performs various functions to support the daily operation of Department of Social Services offices. These services include processing mail, building services, purchasing and supplies, duplication services, and more.
