Draft Transportation/Air Quality Conformity Determination for the Orange County Portion of the NY-NJ-CT PM2.5 Maintenance Area
January 27, 2021 through February 25, 2021
On March 2, 2021 the Orange County Transportation Council (OCTC) will take action regarding the Draft Transportation/Air Quality Conformity Determination for PM2.5. Orange County is part of the NY-NJ-CT Fine Particulate Matter (PM 2.5) Maintenance Area. Air quality conformity must be demonstrated by an MPO in non-attainment and maintenance areas whenever transportation projects are programmed that may significantly impact air quality. This coordination between transportation and air quality planning ensures that transportation programs and projects will not cause any new violations, increase the frequency or severity of violations, or delay timely attainment of the PM2.5 standard.
