Notice of OCTC Public Comment Period

June 16, 2021 through July 15, 2021
On August 10, 2021 the Orange County Transportation Council (OCTC) Policy Committee will consider taking action regarding the adoption of the draft OCTC Transportation/Air Quality Conformity Determination for the Orange County portion of the NY-NJ-CT Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) and the Poughkeepsie, NY Ozone Non-Attainment Area. The document will be available for public review from June 16, 2021 through July 15, 2021. Air quality conformity must be demonstrated by an MPO in non-attainment and maintenance areas whenever transportation projects are programmed that may significantly impact air quality. This coordination between transportation and air quality planning ensures that transportation programs and projects will not cause any new violations of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), increase the frequency or severity of violations of any existing NAAQS violations, or delay timely attainment of the NAAQS or any required interim emissions reductions or other milestones in any area.
