[ARCHIVED] Deputy County Clerk Eskew hosts Naturalization ceremony

Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County hosted a Naturalization ceremony on Thursday, September 23rd at the County’s Emergency Services Center.

Deputy County Clerk Kelly Eskew administered the Oath of Allegiance to the new citizens and Orange County Family Court Lori Currier Woods presided over the ceremony.

“We are honored the first moments as U.S. citizens for these men and women took place right here in Orange County,” Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus said. “I offer all of the new citizens my sincerest congratulations and wish them happiness and success in the U.S.”

Twenty-five people from 18 countries took the Oath of Allegiance, the final part of the naturalization process, renouncing all foreign allegiance while pledging to support and defend the American Constitution and to follow the laws of the United States.

“We enjoyed welcoming these new citizens and wish them all the best,” Eskew said. “Every person at the ceremony has made sacrifices and worked so hard to make this proud day a reality. These ceremonies are always heartwarming and inspiring.”
