Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and County Clerk Annie Rabbitt released the following statement about the recent passing of former County Clerk Joan Macchi.

Formerly of Highland Mills, Macchi was 83. She retired as Orange County Clerk in 1998 after a 25-year career in public service.

“Joan epitomized what public service meant to the residents of Orange County,” Neuhaus and Rabbitt said. “She moved the County Clerk’s Office forward during her tenure with a variety of programs and initiatives. Joan was hard-working and well-liked and respected by her peers. She will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”
