[ARCHIVED] Notice of Transportation Funding Opportunity: Section 5310

Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Grant Program

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is soliciting applications for funding under the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310). Approximately $30.6 million in funding will be allocated pursuant to this solicitation. An additional $5.9 million in Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 (CRRSAA) and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding will also be made available. The goal of the Section 5310 Program is to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation services and expanding the transportation mobility options available. The program provides financial assistance for transportation services planned, designed, and carried out to meet the special transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities.

To facilitate application development, NYSDOT will be hosting a series of webinars and providing opportunities to review pre-applications with NYSDOT staff. NYSDOT will post the webinars for potential project sponsors to view. More information, including upcoming webinars, FAQs, and Application Materials for Federal Funding Assistance under the FTA Section 5310 program are found at: https://www.dot.ny.gov/public-transportation/specialized-transportation/5310/section%205310-application-material

Applications must be submitted to NYSDOT by March 21, 2022.
