[ARCHIVED] County Executive Neuhaus commissions Warwick’s Noah Daigle as 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army

Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus commissioned Noah Daigle as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army after his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point on Saturday, May 21st.

“Four years ago, I supported Noah’s congressional nomination to West Point, and I was humbled that his family asked me to take part in this monumental day,” said Neuhaus, who serves in the United States Navy Reserves as a Lieutenant Commander, assigned to the Pacific Fleet, and was recently deployed with the U.S. Navy’s Sixth Fleet in response to the crisis in Ukraine. “It takes a special person to be able to graduate from one of the finest institutions in America while exemplifying the West Point credo of Duty, Honor, Country. I am proud of Noah and know that his passion to serve our country will make him a great leader.”

Approximately 1,000 cadets graduated from West Point on Saturday. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, served as the commencement speaker. He is the 20thchairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, and the principal military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council.

Daigle, a 2018 Warwick High School graduate, now heads to Fort Sill, Oklahoma for five months for his Basic Office Leadership course and will then be stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

“County Executive Neuhaus was there for me when I began the journey towards academy acceptance. he was instrumental in helping me through the Congressional nomination process, carving out time from his busy schedule to sit and talk with me about my future service goals,” Daigle said. “I have continued to follow Mr. Neuhaus’ many deployments throughout my four years at West Point. It is only fitting to have him commission me as a 2nd Lieutenant which completes my 47-month experience that we began together.”
