Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Clerk Annie Rabbitt has announced that the office’s Record Room will be open to the public at the new Government Center on Monday, March 26th.
“Moving more than 300 years of public land records has been quite an endeavor,” Rabbitt said. “I’m grateful for the collaborative work of my staff, the Department of Public Works and our vendor services during this process.”
The Record Room is a vital component of all real estate transaction performed in Orange County. Residents can visit the Record Room for a copy of a deed, satisfaction of mortgage or a business certificate. The County Clerk’s Government Center location will also be home to a Department of Motor Vehicles office, which will be opening in the next few weeks. The County will continue to operate DMV offices in Middletown, Newburgh and Port Jervis.
Once the DMV opens, the Government Center will be fully occupied by these departments: Budget, Consumer Affairs/Weights and Measures, County Attorney, County Executive, District Attorney, Finance, General Services/Information Technology, Human Rights, Human Resources, Legislature, Real Property and Risk Management.
