2018 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ)

Purpose
New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is making up to $100 million in funding available to support bicycle, pedestrian, multi-use path and non-motorized transportation-related projects as well as programs and projects that reduce congestion and improve air quality that help meet the requirements of the Clean Air Act. These funds, made available to the State through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and administered by NYSDOT, are provided through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ). There will be $56 million in funding under TAP; and $44 million in funding under CMAQ. Applicant must attend an informational workshop. Pre-Application review is highly recommended.
