[ARCHIVED] Notice of Air Quality Action Day on Monday, July 9, 2018

The New York State Department of Transportation has declared that an AIR QUALITY ACTION DAY is posted for the downstate New York Metropolitan area for Monday, July 9, 2018. High levels of OZONE are expected in the downstate New York Metropolitan area on July 9, 2018.


The Downstate Metropolitan area consists of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Region 3 Lower Hudson Area (Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster, and Sullivan counties), Region 2 New York City Metro Area (New York City, Rockland, and Westchester counties), and Region 1 Long Island Area (Nassau and Suffolk counties).


This message is being broadcasted statewide to inform those who live and work in affected areas, and for those who are planning on traveling to the affected areas.


Air Quality Action Days are days when air quality is predicted to be in the unhealthy range for sensitive groups.
