[ARCHIVED] Stony Ford Golf Course to host Wine and Nine event on August 26th

Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and Parks and Recreation Commissioner Jim Brooks announced that the inaugural Stony Ford Wine and Nine Golf Open will be held on Sunday, August 26th at Stony Ford Golf Course.

The event begins at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start. Two local wineries, Warwick Valley Winery and Palaia Winery, will be on-site to offer wine tasting stations on the course during the nine-hole tournament. Stations will be set up at the third, fifth, seventh and ninth tees. Participants may register individually, as a twosome, threesome or foursome.  Single players will be matched up with other golfers.

Tournament format is team scramble and first, second and third place teams will receive prizes from the Pro Shop.  There will also be a closest-to-the-pin and longest drive contest on the seventh and ninth holes with prizes awarded to male and female winners. After the golf event, there will be a reception in the golf lodge with Hors d’oeuvres and door prizes.  The entry fee is $45 per person and includes green fee, golf cart, all prizes and all refreshments.
