District Attorney Hoovler Announces Locations and Dates for

The Uncommon Athlete Events at Area Schools

Highland Falls and Minisink School Districts to Host Events

April 9 and 10, 2019

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, the dates and locations for The Uncommon Athlete events that the District Attorney will be sponsoring this spring. On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, the program will be presented in the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District, in the morning at the Highland Falls Intermediate School, and in the afternoon at James I. O’Neill High School. The following day, the program will be presented in the Minisink Valley Central School District, in the morning at the Minisink Valley High School and in the afternoon at Minisink Valley Middle School. Cody Hodges, former Texas Tech and Tennessee Titans quarterback, will provide a moving presentation, and will join students for some free time between presentations.

The Uncommon Athlete, a program of Rachel’s Challenge and the Cal Ripken, Sr., Foundation, is designed to bring to student athletes some tools that they can use to make themselves not only better athletes, but better citizens, and to help them to realize their potential as future leaders of our communities. The program impresses on young athletes the values of Perseverance, Relationships, Integrity, Courage, and Empathy (PRICE).

“I look forward to every presentation of The Uncommon Athlete,” said District Attorney Hoovler. “Cody Hodges affects every audience positively, and I’m sure that the upcoming presentations will be no exception. I’m proud to again bring this important message to our student athletes.”
