Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus released the following statement on Wednesday about the passing of Frederica Warner. Warner died on Tuesday at the age of 101.

A lifelong Newburgh resident, Warner founded Meals on Wheels Greater Newburgh in 1972. She also worked closely with Habitat for Humanity and Cornell Cooperative Extension. Warner was involved in a variety of other local charities in Newburgh and active in her church.

Neuhaus honored Warner as his Citizen of the Month Award winner in December of 2017.

“Frederica was well respected, even revered, by those she worked with, those she helped and all whose lives she touched,” Neuhaus said. “She dedicated much of her life to serving her community and helping those less fortunate. Frederica was a kind and generous woman, and she will always be remembered for her contributions to the Newburgh community. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.”
