Goshen, N.Y. – The Orange County Transportation Council (OCTC) is updating its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to understand the needs and issues facing the County’s transportation system, to set goals and performance objectives that best reflect the needs of residents and businesses, and to identify projects and policies to help it reach those goals.
Through the end of May, the OCTC is assembling information about trends in transportation, demographics, and the economy, and developing goals and objectives to guide transportation investments over the next 25 years. The OCTC will hold Public Engagement Workshop sessions from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7th at Kaplan Hall on SUNY Orange’s Newburgh campus.
The LRTP serves as the policy foundation for decisions that the County will make regarding its transportation system over the next 25 years. The 2045 LRTP will comply with the latest federal requirements for Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs).
