Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and Office for the Aging Director AnnMarie Maglione hosted the 21st annual Senior Forum on Friday, August 16th at SUNY Orange’s Middletown Campus.

“These important workshops provided seniors in our community with important information and access to the tools they need to remain safe, healthy and happy,” Neuhaus said. “I am grateful OFA continues to address and bring awareness to the loneliness and isolation epidemic in our society. The Office for the Aging did a wonderful job highlighting the variety of exciting and educational programs we provide for our older residents. It was a great day for Orange County’s seniors.”

Activities at the Senior Forum included the Office for the Aging’s 2019 Public Hearing. Maglione provided a short slide presentation featuring the Office’s events, programs, and activities from the previous year, and discussed goals for 2020 and their 4- year plan. Public input and questions were taken after the presentation.

Following the program, a variety of informative and engaging workshops were held throughout the college campus. Some topics included Flower Arranging, Basics for Smart Phones and Computers, Medicare Updates Q and A, Balance and Falls Prevention, Legal Advice for Advance Directives, Dance Exercise, Genetic Testing and Its Value in Determining Your Nutrition Needs, Cupcake Decorating, Airbnb, Staycations and Vacations throughout the County and Mediterranean and Fad Diets.

“The Office for the Aging’s top priority continues to be maintaining a high quality of life for older adults in the community,” Maglione said. “We were delighted to host this educational and fun-filled day with County Executive Neuhaus and our incredible seniors.”
