Goshen, N.Y. – The Orange County Human Rights Commission has announced that its 24th annual Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 10th at The Fountains of Wallkill Golf Club in Middletown.
“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the honorees and find them once again to be a diverse and impressive group,” Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus said. “These men and women are wonderful examples of citizens who are committed to making Orange County a better place to live.”
The event will honor four individuals and a veterans’ peer group who have worked to strengthen relationships and foster equality for everyone in the community. This year’s honorees are Danielle Barbour of Safe Space America, Pastor Rolfi Elivo of the Warwick Reformed Church, Fran Fox-Pizzonia of Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley, Decora Sandiford a Performance Poet and Rap Artist, and the Vet2Vet Program, a veteran peer program of the Mental Health Association.
“It is truly a privilege for the Commission to honor the work of these incredible individuals who are making a difference in our community, and some even nationwide. They each exemplify the essence of what the Commission’s mission is, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements,” said Inaudy Esposito, Executive Director of the Orange County Human Rights Commission.
The cost for the luncheon is $50. Reservations must be received by December 2nd and can be made online on the County of Orange webpage at orangecountygov.com/HumanRightsAwards.
