Goshen, N.Y. - Orange County Legislature Chairman Steve Brescia on Sunday expressed his thanks to first responders and healthcare workers across Orange County, as well as County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus, the County’s Health Department and Emergency Services staff for their non-stop work in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

“Today, I was in contact with communities throughout Orange County and also consulted with key County and healthcare staff on the ongoing operations to combat the spread of COVID-19,” Brescia said. “I have expressed the County Legislature’s support to address the financial costs by cutting unnecessary spending and re-prioritizing aid to ensure healthcare and emergency services needs can be met.”

Legislative Chairman Brescia lauded the tireless work of first responders, the County’s Health and Emergency Management departments and healthcare workers in both the private and public sector.

“The nurses, doctors, and staff at our hospitals and major medical providers have gone above and beyond to protect the public,” Brescia said. “We all value our own personal healthcare providers. It is imperative that we call our healthcare provider before going to the office. This is the best way to protect healthcare workers and allow them to do their jobs safely and effectively.”

Brescia added:  “Under the leadership of County Executive Neuhaus, throughout the weekend our Emergency Services center was operating; conferencing with State health officials, and coordinating efforts to increase healthcare supplies to our local hospital,” Brescia said. “Together, we will push through these challenging times.”
