[ARCHIVED] Orange County advises residents to contact Offices before arriving during COVID-19 situation

Goshen, N.Y. – Pursuant to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Order, in-office staffing is being reduced across the State by governments, including Orange County during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Accordingly, prior to seeking any Orange County government services, please call that Department prior to arriving at that location. Orange County government continues to operate. Residents are encouraged to monitor the County’s website and Facebook page in order to be kept up to date with the most current local information.

The County website is www.OrangeCountyGov.com. Major Department relevant phone numbers include:

Social Services: 845-291-4000; For SNAP (formerly known as Food Stamps): Apply online at www.mybenefits.ny.gov.

Orange County Crisis Center: Helps connect people with services for mental illness, substance abuse, developmental disabilities, or who need referrals for food and hunter issues; Phone: 800-832-1200.

Department of Motor Vehicles: Goshen, 845-615-3960; Newburgh, 845-568-5230; Middletown, 845-346-1180.

Governor Cuomo has ordered that all local governments reduce staffing by at least 50 percent in the office physically. As of Tuesday morning, Orange County has 18 confirmed positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.
