Orange County Community Services Board Members Needed
If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the Community Services Board please send your letter of interest addressed to: Commissioner Darcie M. Miller, emailed to: rlacatena@orangecountygov.com no later than October 30, 2020.
What is the Community Services Board (CSB)? The mission of the Orange County Community Services Board is to act as an advisory group to the Commissioner of Mental Health by sharing our interest, skills and experience in the areas of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and/or Chemical Dependency issues. The 15 member board is appointed by the Orange County Executive under the Mental Hygiene Law of the State of New York.
- CSB meetings are scheduled on the 2nd Wednesday of every month 5:30 p.m.
We are assisted in our work by a sub-committee in each of the service areas. These committees are headed by a member of the CSB and are made up of
consumers, parents or family members, providers of services and/or concerned citizens. CSB contributes to the development of short and long term goals which will help provide an integrated system of care for those needing behavioral health services and their families. In addition, we help advocate for those receiving behavioral health services by educating the general public, reducing stigma and improving access to services wherever possible.
