Introduction to Supporting Those At Risk


When someone in your life attempts suicide or experiences suicidal thoughts, it can be difficult to know how to best support them in their recovery. This program is designed to provide you with information and resources on how to support someone in your life with lived experience. In the context of this presentation, the term “lived experience” refers to someone's experience with suicidal thoughts and/or a past suicide attempt.

Suggested Participants:

Those who have supported or are supporting a loved one who has struggled or attempted suicide Those interested in learning more, because anyone may need to support someone at some point in time

*Note: Registration is required and participants must be at least 18 years or older to attend.

An Introduction to Suicide Prevention (TSL) is a community based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what YOU can do to fight suicide.

Hike for Hope

Exercise and staying physically fit are contributing factors in maintaining our mental well being. An active heart helps create a healthy mind. To that end, we invite you to support our “Hike for Hope” that will take place the entire month of May. Hike at the locations listed on our website, find the AFSP sign, take a picture #HVWCHike and email it to us. Keep track of your hikes using the activity tracker and win prizes!
