Requests for an Alternate Test Date must be addressed to the Civil Service Unit (Fax number 845-291-2569) and be signed and dated. Please include the reason you are unable to attend a scheduled exam and attach backup documentation. View a copy of the Alternate Test Date Policy (PDF).
Generally, it can take three to six months from the date of a Civil Service Exam for the results to be received and the eligible list to be established. Contact Human resources at 845-291-2707 for more information.
Admission letters for Civil Service Exams are mailed out 10 to 14 days prior to the exam date. If you have not received an admission letter within two days of the exam date, please contact the Civil Service Unit at 845-291-2730.
