NAMI Basics is a free, 6-week (one day per week) education program for parents and family caregivers of children and teens who are experiencing symptoms of a mental illness or whom have already been diagnosed. NAMI Basics is offered in a group setting so you can connect with other people face-to-face.

This workshop will offer an overview for managing school refusal. Areas of specific focus will include: understanding why kid’s refuse school, how to address the refusal, what can be done to get them back to school, and how to proceed if returning to school does not seem like a viable option. An in depth exploration of how to best serve kids at highest risk to refuse school including students suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or managing learning differences will also be offered.
Continuing Education Credit: This educational offering is acceptable for 3 continuing education contact hours.
